Homecoming Teacher of the Week

September 22, 2016

How many years have you taught in the Kearney School District?

Five years

What grades/subject(s) do you teach?

Freshman English I

What does being a Kearney Bulldog mean to you?

Being a bulldog means being part of a strong and supportive family. I graduated from Kearney, and was always amazed of the support we as athletes had from the community. As an adult, I am even more amazed at the support from the community and the amazing Kearney fan base. I’ve taught in a different district and the support and fans pale in comparison to bulldog fans!!

Who is your favorite bulldog football player of all time?  WHY?

It’s too hard to choose just one.I have loved watching many different bulldogs in all sports! It’s so fun to see former freshman become STUDS out on the field.

If Coach Jones would let you call one offensive play on a Friday night, what play would you call?

Quarterback sweep. Not sure I fully understand it, but it sounds cool.

What does the honor of being selected Teacher of the Week mean to you?

I almost cried when I got the email. It is a huge honor to me that these kiddos remember me after they have left the Jr. High.As a teacher, you always hope you make a positive impact on students and receiving this honor means I have impacted at least a few!
